What does an automotive technician do?
An automotive technician performs all levels of service, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles that come into the service bay. This includes tire rotations, oil changes, and bigger repair jobs. Auto techs are also responsible for tracking the work they perform, communicating effectively with customers and teammates, complying with relevant local, state, and federal laws, and adhering to the DARCARS code of conduct.
What is an automotive service advisor?
An automotive service advisor helps our clients figure out what automotive maintenance or repairs their vehicle requires. They also answer incoming service calls, schedule and manage auto service appointments, and advise customers about the vehicle warranty options that are available when they purchase a car from our dealerships. This is a great role for people-persons who enjoy talking to folks.
What are the duties of an automotive service manager?
The automotive service manager position is a management role that sees the employee conduct oversight of the service department at one of our locations. Service managers have to be familiar with vehicle service and with effectively managing other people. As such, automotive service managers have to have in-field experience.
